We are pleased to announce that China Automotive Technology and Research Center Co., Ltd. (CATARC), a valued member, has been successfully nominated for the World Summit on the Information Society Prizes, one of the most prestigious global awards in the field of information and communication technologies (ICT), organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
The nominated project,
“Exploration and Construction of Digital Standards Ecosystem for Intelligent Connected Vehicles in China”,
has distinguished itself among a large number of international submissions and has been shortlisted for the public voting phase.
The WSIS Prizes serve as an important mechanism to implement the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society, aiming to identify and promote outstanding ICT-driven initiatives that contribute to sustainable economic and social development.
Each year, approximately 1,000 projects worldwide compete across 18 categories, including digital infrastructure, e-government, smart cities, and the digital economy. Following a rigorous evaluation process, only around 30% of projects are selected for nomination. Final winners are determined through a combination of expert assessment and global public voting.
Being shortlisted reflects a high level of international recognition and highlights the project’s relevance in shaping global digital development trends.
The nominated project focuses on the integration of digital technologies with the intelligent connected vehicle (ICV) industry, presenting a comprehensive and systematic approach to standards development in China.

These efforts have effectively supported the rapid and large-scale development of China’s ICV industry, while also offering a replicable model for the global digital mobility ecosystem.
