On September 16, 2024, the China Automobile Standards Internationalization Center (CASIC) visited the French Automotive Technical Research Center (UTAC) for an in-depth exchange on technology and future collaborations.

The meeting was hosted by Céline Vallaude, Head of the Technical and Vehicle Regulations Department at UTAC. She provided a comprehensive overview of UTAC’s main activities, including testing and certification, regulatory standards, and consulting and training services. She also highlighted UTAC's latest advancements in areas such as general safety, intelligent connected vehicles, and new energy technologies.

Baoxiang, representing CASIC, shared insights on the progress of CASIC’s member companies in Europe and their involvement in the coordination of international automotive standards and regulations. Both parties reviewed their collaboration over the past year in areas such as regulatory interpretation, technical consulting, and data sharing.

Moving forward, both CASIC and UTAC have agreed to deepen cooperation, with a particular focus on:

  1. Training on type approval systems;
  2. Interpretation of non-access European regulations;
  3. Tracking of key market standards;
  4. Joint research projects in standardization.

This visit strengthened ties between China and Europe in the field of automotive standards and laid a solid foundation for future cooperation.
