Inauguration of Geneva Branch of Swiss Chinese Enterprises Association

Geneva, August 8, 2024 – The Geneva Branch of the Swiss Chinese Enterprises Association (SCEA) was officially inaugurated today. The event was attended by Shen Jian, Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the UN Office at Geneva; Xie Guoxiang, Minister Counsellor for Economic and Commercial Affairs at the ChineseEmbassy in Switzerland; Gong Weiyun, President of SCEA; Xiao Ping, President of theGeneva Branch of SCEA, and over 60 other representatives from various organizations.


Xie Guoxiang highlighted the ten-year anniversary of the China-Switzerland Free Trade Agreement and noted ongoing negotiations for its upgrade, emphasizing SCEA's role in strengthening economic ties. Gong Weiyun called the new branch a milestone and urged it to enhance international cooperation and focus on member needs. Xiao Ping expressed gratitude and pledged to make the Geneva Branch a key facilitator of Sino-Swiss business collaboration.


The event included speeches from local officials, the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the China Automotive Standard Internationalization Center, and the announcement of special offers for SCEA members by Air China.
