Xinhua Silk Road Geneva, June 29 (Reporter Chen Junxia) - After a year of preparation, the China Automotive Standards Internationalization Center (Geneva) was officially put into operation in Geneva, Switzerland on the 28th. The anniversary activities of the center were held simultaneously in Tianjin, China and Geneva, Switzerland on the day of its establishment.
The China Automotive Standards Internationalization Center (Geneva) is the first specialized agency established overseas in the field of automotive standardization in China. Over the past year, it has achieved efficient docking with international organizations related to automotive standards and regulations such as the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It has utilized its geographical advantages to collect and organize more than 30 important technical documents such as development strategies and special reports on automotive related international standards and regulations, We have achieved comprehensive coverage of international standards and regulations related to UNECE, ISO, International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and World Trade Organization (WTO), laying an important foundation for the international development of China's automotive industry.
The center relies on important institutions such as UNECE to formulate automotive standards and regulations, and has extensive exchanges and cooperation with experts from the International Automobile and Parts Association, the United States, Europe, Japan, and South Korea. It has contributed Chinese wisdom to international standards and regulations and also solved some technical challenges that arise in the process of China's automobile industry going global.
The center adopts the operating model of a "non-profit organization" and conducts internal organization based on the principles of "consultation, co construction, and sharing", gradually exploring a new model of China's automotive standard internationalization work that is "led by the government, led by central enterprises, participated by multiple parties, and coordinated promotion".
During this period, the center organized and established an international standard and regulation coordination expert database of over 60 people, promoting the orderly participation of the Chinese automotive industry in international standard and regulation conferences and technical evaluation activities in fields such as new energy and autonomous driving.
According to the customs import and export data released by the General Administration of Customs of China, China's monthly automobile exports reached 230000 units in May this year, a year-on-year increase of 35.8%; From January to May, 1.07 million vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 42.8%, ranking second in the world in terms of export volume. Given that exported cars need to comply with internationally accepted standards and regulations as well as standards and regulations in different regions, the above data indicates that the internationalization level of Chinese automotive products is becoming increasingly high.
